Movie Scene Favorites Garrett SearsThe Matrix Revolutions (2003) "Why Mr. Anderson?"
A fantastic scene and a great way to end the trilogy. Hugo Weaving took the role of Agent Smith and ran with it, becoming Smith in the process. This speech outdoes all the other Smith speeches. The fights in Revolutions were a little hard to stomach sometimes because of the cheesy Dragonball Z style of it all. But yeah, this scene rules.
Titanic (1997) "I hope you enjoy your time together!"
Cal Hawkley always wins. One way or another. Even if it means just killing Jack and Rose. Now, if you know Garrett Sears you know my love of Billy Zane and all things Zane. The intensity he shows in the scene is great. He plays the prissy jackass spoiled brat type character flawlessly. Possibly my favorite movie villain.
Trainspotting (1996) "Perfect Day"
I always love when movie scenes are set to music, and this is no exception. One of the coolest effects ever. I think Ewan McGregor is one of the finest and most underrated actors around today. This is deffinetly no exception. I enjoy the comparison of being hooked on drugs is like being stuck in a hole you can't get out of without help. It's a great scene, great song too.
Gangs of New York (2002) "The heart?! This boy has no heart!"
Daniel Day-Lewis is a master of his craft. One of my favorite performances of his is deffenetly Gangs of New York as one of my favorite characters Bill "The Butcher" Cutting. This scene is great because i enjoy the belittling of the hero of the movie played by Leonardo DiCaprio. Also, headbutts rule.
Igby Goes Down (2002) "Great Pressure"
One of my favorite movies shows some of my worst fears. Going crazy. It's kind of a like father like son moment in the movie. I also enjoy the backdrop music of the decorative piano putting a light spin on a very dark and depressing scene. Superb acting by Bill Pullman of all people. I greatly enjoy this movie and scene.
Star Wars Episode VI: The Return of the Jedi (1983) "Luke owns Vader"
I love this scene. Probably my favorite lightsaber duel through the trilogy. Lucas does a good job at making Luke look like a believable heir to the Sith throne. I also find it hilarious whenever I see Luke's hiding place of just underneath the stairs. Also, Vader's badass when he throws his saber.
Training Day (2001) "King Kong Ain't Got Shit On Me!"
What else would you expect from Denzel Washington?
Reservoir Dogs (1992) "I didn't create the situation."
I love this scene. Mainly because I love Mr. Pink. I agree with everything Mr. Pink says straight from the tipping speech. I would refuse to wait to see Mr. Orange through. Mr. White is being ridiculous and doesn't know what he's saying. I'd leave him for dead, but the acting chops on the two of them is incredible.
