Compliments: Creamy Chicken & Bacon Calzone
Mark MacLeod

Lisa and I were out to get a few things at Sobey's last week, and Lisa decided to pick these up. I really didn't even pay any attention to what it was she was puting in the cart. So last night we were trying to decide what to have for supper, and she mentioned these. For some reason, when I saw the box in the freezer, I thought it was some kind of stuffed chicken breast or something. I was incorrect.

Anyhow, I was pleasantly surprised. If you've ever tried those frozen microwaveable sandwiches, the contents of this calzone can be compared to that. Lisa wasn't too keen on it, but it might be due to it being a little crispier than it probably should have been. I might have left them in the oven a few minutes longer than it needed. They come two in a box, so it's good for a snack for two, or if it could be a satisfying meal for one.

Let's just say, even though Lisa didn't finish hers, it did not go to waste.

I would reccommend giving these a try if you're looking for something relatively quick and filling. I noticed on the Compliments website there were a few other flavors, as well as individually packaged calzones. Not sure if they are all available locally, but might be worth a look.

Final Ruling: Thumbs Up -- I'm going to be having these again.
