Top Five Six Action Scenes
Alex Passerini
After the supremely popular top 5 action movies of all times, I have decided to go with the top action scenes of all time. These may be 1 v 1 fights, 1 v tons fights, or just an all out war. These scenes will get your heart pumping and almost have you leave your seat in excitement. Again, this is in no particular order.
Saving Private Ryan (1998)
"D-Day"

This is one of the most heart wrenching and realistic scenes in cinema history. Steven Spielberg proves why he is one of the greatest directors of all time with this reenactment of the beginning of the end of the World War 2. This is scene is so intense and realistic it brought back horrible memories to veterans fighting in this war, with many saying it was one of the few movies that actual capture the intense feeling of being there and not knowing if your next breathe will be your last. It really shows that war is not something to be taken lightly.

V For Vendetta (2006)
"Final Fight"

The reason I decided to make this list. I really just love this final scene. V is making his final stand and finishing what started all those years ago. He is surrounded by armed police with guns drawn. Creedy is filled with confidence, thinking he has this in hand. And then come one of my favorite cocky moments in all films. No hero can back talk a bad guy with such perfect language as V can.

Creedy: Bollocks. Whatchya gonna do, huh? We've swept this place. You've got nothing. Nothing but your bloody knives and your fancy karate gimmicks. We have guns.
V: No, what you have are bullets, and the hope that when your guns are empty I'm no longer be standing, because if I am you'll all be dead before you've reloaded.
Creedy: That's impossible. Kill him.

What follows is one of the most kick-ass scenes in a movie, where V shows that he is more then just human and most important that not only does he Talk the Talk but he also Walks the Walk.

The Matrix (1999)
"Lobby Scene"

This is probably the most controversial scene in the movie. When first released The Matrix was praised for its smart story and revolutionary fighting scene and bullet time affects. Kids everywhere loved this, however, many people blame this scene for the Columbine shootings. Whether or not this is true I don’t know, but what I do know this scene helped bring back R rated violence to the public that had been missing since the early 90s. Even though the directors tried to out do them selves in action in the falling movies, none have had the impact or lasting appeal that this scene had the first time you saw it.

Die Hard (1988)
"The Death Of Hans"

This scene may be the least violent of my selections but in my opinion one of the most kick-ass scenes. All though there are numerous scenes in this movie that could be here over this scene I just love it too much. This scene is the death of one of the greatest villains ever and proves no one can do it like John McClane. Through-out the movie we see McClane as a true cow-boy and this proves to be true when the movie basically ends in a “pistols at dawn” show down. Hans thinks he has this one and even shares a little laugh about it. However, if he had scene any westerns he would have known better. With two quick shots and one fall from a building, John McClane ends one of the greatest hostage situations ever and giving Hans a suitable send off.

Unforgiven (1992)
"Clint Eastwood Clears House"

Clint Eastwood is bad-ass, there is no way around it. He is one of the few people that could probably stare you to death. But just incase he carries a gun. That pretty much guarantees that you are going to die. Oh and if you decorate your saloon with his friend, you better arm yourself, as this video shows. There is not anything else I can say about this scene. It pretty much just talks for itself.

Indiana Jones and The Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981)
"Gun vs Sword"

One of the most brilliant scenes in movie history and to think it almost never happened. See this was suppose to be an epic sword vs whip scene. However, Ford was sick and just wanted to end shooting for the day so decided to do this instead. Because of this we get one of the best scenes in any of the movies. Add in the great chase before hand, this is an excellent end to a scene and helps make Indiana Jones one of the greatest characters of all time

Again have to give honorable mentions:

Terminator 2: Judgment Day- Don’t kill anyone
Face/OFF- Church fight
Rambo- You killed his girl, last mistake you will ever make
Aliens- Ripley vs the Queen
